Not sure if im the only one having this problem, but i submitted my tax return on 7th April, well my accountant did, normally a day or two later it changes its status to bank payment pending, however this year every 48 hours it asks me to request the payment. My accountant said try and enter my bank details and request it, which i have a couple of times now but like i say after a couple days it never changes its status, it goes back to the original screen that says your account is in £x,xxx,xx credit, request a payment.
i called hmrc about this matter and they said i need to physically write to them.. what would be the reason for this issue? Is it a computer glitch? None of my address details have changed recently, and ive been registered as cis self employed for many years now without any problems with past tax returns over the years... can anyone or any qualified accountants shead light on this issue? My accountant is confused and not being much help at the moment on the matter.

This could be unconnected but I noticed when I completed my return, for the first time ever, a message stating something along the lines of:

‘If a repayment is due on your self-assessment you are now required to log back in after 72 hours in order to claim repayment’. This was on the opening screen, before tailoring the return.

As I say, possibly unconnected, but certainly new!

When did you complete your return? Are you having the same troubles as me then or does yours now say bank repayment pending?

    Last week - I don’t have a repayment due.

That message appeared before I even started to complete the return though.

If it is a large repayment it may be held for a security check.

Also i had to verify myself using passport and driving licence so that should complete a security check surely

I had this problem as well.  It eventually just sorted itself out months later (and I did receive interest without asking).
