Pip mobility eligibility

My child will be moving over to pip from DLA as turning 16 next week. I understand that pip forms will arrive in the post after his birthday.
At the moment I am gathering evidence hospital letters OT letters etc to support his claim. I have a recent hospital letter from consultant which says.
Name mobility is significantly affected walks less than 20m before pain in knee, leg, back. Recurrent falls grade 2 ankle pain kneecap displacement-balance problems external torsion of tibia scoliosis has a special to sit in due to spine scoliosis.
Will this letter be good evidence to show my sons mobility needs to get pip descriptor E can stand and then move more than 1 meter but no more than 20 metres either aided or unaided?

A letter from a consultant is good evidence, back this up with something like
Under the care of Orthopedic consultant since XXXX, who documents mobility to be less than 20 meters due to spinal scoliosis causing knee, leg and back pain. This leads to difficulties with falls, balance. Etc.
You can note the last fall or if they havent fallen for a while what youve done to overcome this.
It will be then up to the assessor to decide the discriptor but at MR you have the evidence. I suggest referring back to the letter in your questionaire answer and at assessment so its clear to the assessor that there is evidence. Do you have other letters from the consultant?Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.

For PIP a really important concept is reliability - being able to repeat an activity repeatedly, safely, to an acceptable standard [which partly means without severe discomfort (pain/fatigue/breathlessness/dizziness/etc.)], and in no more than twice the time it would normally take a nondisabled person. So be sure to state the effects of walking, how long it takes him to walk X distance, and whether or not he can repeat it after a rest, things like that.
