Salary sacrifice...income levels & Carers allowance

Hello all,
I'm a full time carer for my better half who has a longterm terminal condition, similar to MND. I've been a carer for 5yrs and have an opportunity to work part-time for my previous business.
The work would be sporadic but on average I could possibly earn £1500 per month. Made up of some weeks at zero income and others with more....some months might be zero too, dependent on carer responsibilities.
Initially I understood that carers allowance was not means tested but now know its not quite that.
Questions...
If I'm on a zero hrs contract and earn 1500 pm, then would I'd almost certainly lose my allowance?
Could I mitigate the impact by salary sacrifice a large element of the income, to bring me below the weekly threshold.
Is there a way of me mak8ng this work?

You can't salary sacrifice below national minimum wage. So assume you have to take home NMW how does that effect your allowance.0
