Sky stream and U.

There is a good offer for sky stream (I’m currently with virgin). I’m a little confused with a particular thing… I know that they don’t actually record as such, my virgin box records and then I watch it from my list and I can fast forward through the adverts. I have added the advert skipping to the package with sky. I watch quite a bit on the U channels, u&eden, u&drama etc.
I understand that sky stream takes a lot from on demand/catch up. So my question is does the advert skipping work with programmes that come from U whilst watching on the TV via sky stream? I know that if I watch something from the U app you can’t skip the adverts. They say the advert skipping works on none paid for versions on itv and the channel 4 app but I can’t find any info on programmes from U.

There's a not very obvious workaround to watching programmes on U commercial free on Sky Stream.
That is to watch the programmes hosted on Sky's own servers instead of which they host just about everything on U without having to use the U app.
Search for The Bill or Father Brown for example and it'll give you the option to watch via Sky rather than U and they're commercial free.0 -
Good tip. Just Gold you wouldn’t get, but Gold is lit as good as it used to be anyway.0

Thanks for your help. I watch quite a bit on channels other than the big ones and didn’t want to take the risk on a 24 month contract. I don’t know anyone with sky stream yet so couldn’t test it out. I chickened out, virgin rang me with a better deal so I decided to stay with them!0
