Travelling to Benidorm do I need an ETIAS

Hey guys In feb i went to spain with my UK passport no issues however Im due to go again in a couple of weeks and now been told I may need this ETIAS thing which im already very confused about can anyone help?

I don't think there is yet a firm date although 1 Nov 25 is being talked about

No, you cant actually apply for it yet. There is no "risk".

Who Needs to Apply for Spain ETIAS?

The ETIAS targets travelers from over 60 visa-exempt countries.

If your country is on the list, you’ll need an ETIAS to enter Spain for tourism, business, or transit for up to 90 days. This rule applies to short-term visits only; if you plan to stay longer, you’ll need a visa or a residence permit.

Major Countries Requiring ETIAS for Spain:

• United States

• Canada

• United Kingdom

• Australia

• Japan

• South Korea

• New Zealand

Keep in mind that minors and seniors are also required to apply, but their application fees are waived

Correct, it's not in effect yet.

Once it approaches a confirmed implementation date it'll be well flagged up by the media.

If you are booked with a (reputable) travel agent they'll keep you right.

ETIAS was originally to come into effect about 4 years ago and the date for actually starting has been changed almost annually since then.  Presumably it will eventually start, but not before last quarter of 2026
