Care home fees/property

I need to find out the legality of the 60 year old relative exemption on being forced to sell my Mum’s house to cover care fees.
I don’t own any property.
I am 60 years old.
If I moved my family into my Mum’s property and moved her to a local bungalow or warden assisted flat which would be more appropriate and I paid for it would this be within the rules?
Of course a care home might not be needed but this would preempt that possibility.
Thanks Clive

Do you really want your mother to be forced to depend on a cash strapped LA to fund any residential care she may need in the future?

Whether such a scheme would works or not is rather mute considering this would certainly not be in her best interests.

It’s what she wants to protect her assets, also it means she will have us close by to help and hopefully she won’t have to go. Also she has savings. That did not answer the question.

    It's still deprivation of assets

Likely to be classed as a deliberate move to avoid fees

If your mother moved into another property and you moved into hers, you would have to pay her rent - so how would you be able to pay for the new property?
If the current property your mother lives in is no longer suitable, why would she not just buy herself a smaller more suitable property? It really does sound like you’re hoping to ensure as much of your mums estate is retained in order to pass to you when she dies!
If my mother had suggested this to me in order to pass on an inheritance, I would be dead against it as I would want her to be able to fund her end of life care as much as possible.

It is a deliberate move to avoid fees and make the rest of us tax-payers cough up so the OP can inherit.
