Morning again - it's rained overnight, quite a change to see wet pavements when I looked out earlier.
I have no particular plans for today, but I can always find jobs to do.
I visited my elderly friend yesterday and was pleased to find her in good spirits.
She's frail but cheerful and glad to be home.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.11 -
Morning allThanks for the start ScarletDid lots of potting on of seeds yesterday after hanging about waiting for boiler man. He was running late so never appeared until 1.15.Pouring with rain this morning and looks to continue until lunchtime. Housework on the cards today and a peaceful afternoon with my book. Shame I can't sit outside but it'll still be too wet. Looking at the forecast for the week the temperatures still look low for the time of year. Oh well will take the sunshine when it's there!Hope everyone has a good day and hugs for the poodles x11

Morning everyone thanks for the start scarlet it’s a damp day here I’m out to do a cleaning job soon I met my friend yesterday she’s had a awful weekend her husband went to his brothers stag do and before he even had a drink he got knocked over by a group of lads purely accidental but he was knocked unconscious and had 8 staples in his head he is just getting out of hospital today just shows how easy something can happen she’s been worried sick he said he’s never going out again. I spent my 5 pound Lidl voucher yesterday bread butter and eggs for free and and i had a free veg to get so I got a free cauliflower that’s my bargains for the week nothing else much happening just housework. DP1 enjoy your holiday and good news about little one’s holiday long may it continue. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all
Its been raining here overnight too and more due during the day, I have three people coming today and we are off to the cinema to watch Snow White it’s a perfect day for it as it’s raining so not a good day for being outside, they will all bring Easter eggs to swap today which has become a bit of a tradition Rob and I bought his last week and he is very excited he loves giving and receiving gifts.
Dinner today will be jacket potatoes with cheese ham and salad nice and easy, dd is working a sleep in so just OH and I here for dinner, no washing to do today as I seem to have washed everything in the house while the weather has been good.
Sainsbugs have a 20% sale off of clothing atm I popped in yesterday to get another leg of lamb and bought three t-shirts and a dress for our holidays, it’s funny I never wear dresses at home but it’s all I wear on holiday as it’s so hot, I wear shorter ones during the day over my swimming costume and maxi dresses in the evenings as they are so much cooler.
I hope DP1 has arrived and having a great time x
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, glad your friend was in good spirits.
Raining again although looks to be gettig brighter, I've washing to do but will keep it inside today. I'm meeting a friend in Glasgow for afternoon tea that she bought me for my birthday. I'll probably go a bit earlier to have a nosy about before we meet. Hopefully the trains will be ok today after last week's cancellations.
After a conversation with Gers and seeing my Aunt I've made an appointment with a solicitor to update my will and organise an LPA, etc. I spent ages yesterday looking for the old will but can't find it although I did manage to cull loads of other paperwork.
Tomato plants are growing away so will spend some time this morning potting them on before I go out - I have the little one all day tomorrow and a sleepover so won't manage to get anything done whilst she's here!
That was scary Mehefin, glad you're ok.
Hope dp1 is enjoying the holiday.
What a terrible accident Izzy, hope he makes a swift recovery.
I saw that offer at Sainsburys Ruby, I'll have to go and have a look!
Hope everyone is well and you have a good day. Take care. XX9 -
Morning all, thanks for the start Scarlet- good to hear your old friend is doing ok. Rain on and off here, but much needed with the chance of wildfires etc. Don't want a repeat of the moors being alight for weeks like a few years ago.I don't know where yesterday went! I paid a visit to my old neighbour friend which involved a 2 bus trip but DH picked me up. She has a difficult life with health issues as does her son who is in a wheelchair. The flat they live in is pretty cramped too but they were pleased to see me. They don't get many visitors apart from carers. On the way home we got a call from DS2 - could we pick up DGS from his DMums - yes ! We've barely see him whilst the schools have been off. I managed to get him to come for a short walk with me before his Dad came to get him, well it made a change from all the football!I had leftover italian meatballs for tea, menfolk mince & chips (DH favourite!
) I'd much sooner have a shepherds/cottage pie if I'm cooking mince. Not sure about tonight.
Ruby - I've been going through my wardrobe too looking for holiday stuff, I've quite a few dresses that will do as they don't get worn very much here.Enjoy Snow White!Hope your friends DH is recovering ok Izzy.Hope you all have a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Good morning
Dull and dreary outside but dry. I heard it raining last night after I went to bed.
I really need to go shopping I'm trying to put it off until tomorrow, although today looks the better day weather wise. I have my £5 voucher for Lids which is burning a hole in my pocket as my df was fond of saying. I want to get the Easter meats and veg on offer. Izzy, I've only got a free cake to get as I haven't been there much this month.
Yesterday's washing to fold and put away, and the endless vacuuming of dog hair, although he's worth it. I think chicken kievs for dinner, unless I go shopping and get something else.
Have a good day whatever you're doing, hugs to all who need them. Take care.10 -
Morning all. It's been raining here too and looks very dull out.
We had a good 2 hr walk with friends yesterday, followed by a pub lunch. The gardener came to tidy up the front whilst we were out and she kindly retrieved our bins from the path and tucked away a parcel that arrived. I must deal with the parcel today as it's some clothes I ordered so need to check they fit. I rarely order clothes online so hope I don't have to send anything back.
DD and family are in Belgium for a short break and there's a slide and a swing ball set in the garden of their air b'n'b so the boys will be happy. They had fun shopping in the local supermarket yesterday, with the 6 yr old using a mini trolley and selecting his own things
Lots of ironing to do this morning, before I run out of energy(!) and then I need a couple of birthday cards plus I owe a friend a catch up email.
Hope everything goes well for folks today. Nearly there @Coxy1111 -
Morning all - a lazy start for me. I slept an hour longer than my norm so feel sluggish and refreshed at the same time!Camelot - After a conversation with Gers and seeing my Aunt I've made an appointment with a solicitor to update my will and organise an LPA, etc. I spent ages yesterday looking for the old will but can't find it although I did manage to cull loads of other paperwork. My exercise class was good yesterday even though I felt a bit under par, mind you I do use extra heavy weights and double up the resistance bands (one heavy orange and one medium blue) so should feel it. Funnily enough one of the exercises seemed to have juggle my digestion - I had to leave the room to free up untrapped wind.
Very peculiar though I was told that it's quite common - not for me it's not!
Today will be more gentle.@Ruby - I hope that you all enjoy the film. It got panned by the reviewers though I always think 'each to their own'. I'm avoiding Easter eggs, apart from the little packet of them which Camelot gave me last week. They are being saved for Sunday. At this time of year I think of Dumpling and her craft projects - wee cosies for creme eggs especially. She was always so kind and generous.Hugs to all, especially our poorlies.11 -
Good morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
No hiking for us today as there’s a weather warning for Cornwall and as much as I’d like to make progress, walking a coastal path along a headland in this weather is too risky. DH and I will have a day out to Penzance and DSis will stay home and read.Awful about your friends DH @IzzyBee just shows how easily things can turn
Have a good day everyone
