Clean Air Zone - No way to check

There doesn't seem to be a way to check if you have gone into any Clean Air Zone and both the website and the council operator (Sheffield) state that they are unable to let you check against your registration due to GDPR, however bridge tolls/Dartford crossing etc let you check.
Has anyone found a way of checking rather than waiting for a fine or trying to check against the map radius.

Did you go within the inner ring road (or on it past the junction of Derek Dooley Way on the Parkway)?0

I'd start by checking if my car (20 year old diesel) incurs the charge.
It doesn't.
If it did, I'd look out for the signs...
Edit to add...I don't think you can check if you've used the Dartford crossing. I suspect however, that most would know without having to check after the event!0 -
About to say the Sheffield charge doesn't actually apply to any cars currently.0

Can't comment on Sheffield but when you go to pay Dartford asks for reg no and if nothing to pay invites you to top up for future crossing.0

Sheffield clean air zone is for commercial vehicle on the whole at the moment. Have you checked your vehicle is actually one which would get charged?0
-
It isn't just for commercial vehicles. It includes vans, campers and motorhomes too.
I got a fine last time when there were diversions so yes my vehicle is eligible for the charge, so I'm wanting to be able to check to see if I went in the zone again, however seems odd that you are unable to check.
Actually you can check on the Dartford crossing via registration number. I know this as I go over this daily though it can take 24hrs for it to be updated.
I wonder why there is no facility to check via registration if you have incurred a charge for going into CAZ. Data Protection doesn't quite fit if you are able to check and pay other toll fines via registration number?1 -
That is why I said on the whole. Without knowing what vehicle you were driving there was no way to tell, but for 99% of the public in non commercial vehicles it doesn't apply. Supplying full relevance in an opening post helps get more accurate answers.
There is no way to get information from Sheffield council as they have not put anything in place to query if APNR picked up specific vehicles. There is no requirement on them to do so, so referencing the fact the Dartford crossing have decided to do so is not really relevant.
You could do a SAR request, but likely you would have been fines before you got the response.
Its pretty well sign posted in Sheffield where the zone is so you should know if you have entered it, diverted or not.
Not much help to you though really, there is no way for you to check. If you think you have gone into it then may be better to pay rather than be fined.0 -

You mean like the signs?Life in the slow lane1 -
There's two questions here, and they're quite different.
1. Did you enter? You surely know that from the signage on the route, and you can easily check the route you took on the map. If your vehicle is subject to the charge, and you entered, then you're liable. If it isn't, or if you didn't, then you aren't.
Which way did you come from? Where did you go?
2. Did you get caught...? Assume you did, if you took the roads within the zone, because the camera coverage will be blanket.0
