Melton building society savings account

Hi,

Does anyone have experience with Melton building society please? I'm interested in opening their Adcock Regular Saver account, but I'm a bit put off by the fact that there doesn't seem to be a way of applying online. You need to print off the application form and mail it in.

Once the account is open, is it possible to monitor and transfer money online?

Thanks

I've used them for a couple of years. If you phone them they'll send you a postal application pack with prepaid envelope. You can register for online banking and view your accounts on there. As part of the application you can also set up a nominated bank account.

If you want to make a withdrawal you can do so online by logging into online banking and sending them a secure message requesting they send the funds to your nominated account.

EDIT: Appears to be branch opening only now (did previously allow postal applications). Thanks @GrumpyDil

No experience but the current T's and C's suggest you can now only open in person anyway and doesn't suggest online access is available.

    Opened by post
    Can be viewed online
    May not receive prepaid envelope
Verification of nominated  account may take a original statement not a online print out.

  • Anyone having massive issues accessing their Adcock account online? I had set up an online access, but they changed their system and I am now locked out of my account.
I tried to ring them but nobody ever answers the phone - worst customer service experience of any bank or building society. You are kept on hold until you are then told to go to their website.
I filled a contact form in on their website and did receive a call a day or two later. They just told me to activate my account again and follow the step by step instructions on their website. I did this but it said my data was invalid so would not let me set up online. My data was not invalid. It was simply not recognised by their website.
I filled out another contact form along with a screenshot of my attempt to activate my account several days ago but have not heard anything from them.
I have never experienced such frustration dealing with a company and would warn anyone thinking about opening an account with them to just not bother. Unless you live near to a branch, it is a nightmare trying to manage the account.
I worry now that my account has been hacked but they have been next to useless regarding sorting my problem out.
Perhaps it is time to just call it a day?
