Most comprehensive cover will allow a repir, without it counting as a claim, affecting your no claim bonus, or needing you to pay excess.

Ask Autoglass, or one of the other names, that'll handle it all for you. Possibly without you needing to even call your insurer.

Assuming it can be fixed, of course!

If you pay yourself, around £30.

& do it sooner, rather than later, 'cos water WILL get in & if it freezes & cracks, you'll end up needing the screen changed.

When I have had to have these repairs done, I'm sure it mentioned on my policy in the documentation somewhere, where/who to contact. It will not be with anyone - your insurers will have an agreement with someone like Autoglass and who ever they are, will be the company you should contact.

Be aware though, even if you think the chip can be repaired, regulations may say not - the repair company will know. However, if you are fully comp. it should only cost you the excess (£50 or £60) and it will not effect your NCB.

A chip can usually be repaired.

Ring the 0800 number on your insurance documents.

Most companies now have a £75 excess, this will be showing in your documents as well.

None of the above have any effect on your NC Discount.
