Santander payee account.

Good morning.
Another question for another day.
I transferred my second Natwest account earlier this year to Santander to receive the £150 switch offer, which l received on Saturday.
Today, l transferred the switch cash to my main account (not Natwest), which was set up when l used it to fund the £1500 in to Santander being one of the terms to get the swich bonus.
When making the transfer, l noticed that my RBS account was on the Santander online portal. How are my bank details there when l never used RBS to set up??
I know Natwest is connected to RBS, but surely if any account should be there, it's the original Natwest account?
I'm just curious 🤔

If you had made a payment to RBS from the switched acc (Nat West) then these details are passed across as part of the switching process.Life in the slow lane3

As born_again says, any existing payment arrangements will be switched, so it's nothing to do with NatWest being connected to RBS, it's just that your original account had, at some point in the past, made a payment to your RBS account.1

The Natwest account had nothing in it from anywhere l opened it got the card and PIN then switched it away to Santander.Zanderman said:As born_again says, any existing payment arrangements will be switched, so it's nothing to do with NatWest being connected to RBS, it's just that your original account had, at some point in the past, made a payment to your RBS account.
It was a virgin account.(untouched not virgin the bank).
It's not a big issue to me just was wondering.
Thank you both for the explanation even though l'm still puzzled.0 -
If it was a virgin account before it was NatWest the RBS payee link may originally be from that virgin account. It has to be from one of the previous accounts, it can't just appear.Bob2000 said:born_again said:If you had made a payment to RBS from the switched acc (Nat West) then these details are passed across as part of the switching process.

Just for clarification, when l mentioned the virgin account, l meant it was nothing in the account. Not virgin the bank. The account was from Natwest.Zanderman said:
