holiday cancellation

hi i need some help, i booked a package holiday yesterday with sunshine .co and paid a £60 pounds deposit, but after thinking about it a lot we decided to cancel. I logged onto Sunshine and they reid to charge me £982.12, surely this isnt right! any help greatly appreciated

You'll have to read the full Ts and Cs regarding your liability when cancelling.
It sounds as if you paid a much reduced deposit.
What was the total cost of the holiday?
How many people?

the holiday is not till september 2026 the full cost is £1,578.08 plus when i made the booking originally i was only asked for a £60 deposit0

Looks like they use low cost airlines which are non cancelable flights and will be charged in full. That also have lots of other cancellation costs and admin fees.
Quick glance I doubt many holidays would only see the deposit being lost without other charges.0 -

Its the norm that if you only pay a tiny deposit then cancel the rest of the .normal. deposit is still due. Its usually all there in the small print along with info about your flights being secured at the time of booking so they are non refundable.
It would be better to still go on the holiday considering the amount you would stand to lose.0
