Well I very much doubt anyone on here will know that.
Its impossible to say, your best bet is to raise a dispute with the CRA concerned, is A&L your bank or not?
Regardless you could ring them and say you have an unidentified credit file entry from them, they may not be able to discuss the matter with you if its not your account, but you can raise a complaint with them to at least investigate the matter.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Does it actually say A&L? The brand was retired more than 15 years ago0 -

Apologies, it didn`t twig at the time, A&L were integrated into Santander in 2011.
Did you ever have any debt with that bank?
Sometimes when old debts are sold, the details re-appear on credit files under the original lenders name.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Only thing you can do then is "raise a dispute" with the CRA reporting it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hello Emmadiva please can you help too. Have you called up santander? Apparently it’s to do with them. Everytime I searched it comes up Santander loans. I also have the same thing happen to me it’s on clear score it says someone took out £700 pounds loan and it’s from alliance and leicester dated April 2025 exactly the same .-1

You're probably best to follow the advice given to the OP 6 months ago. Phone Santander in the first instance, if you get no joy then raise a dispute with the CRA.alexis41 said:Hello Emmadiva please can you help too. Have you called up santander?
