Dormer loft conversion

Just wondered if anyone has had planning permission granted for a semi detached dormer loft conversion when their property has neighbours to the rear? Or does anybody have an idea on chances of being approved?
Thankyou in advance

Brief google search shows that, generally, a planning permission isn't needed for this. Are you sure you need it?0

I found this on the Internet "you are not permitted to add a dormer window that overlooks a neighbour’s house"0 -

I don't see anything that excludes dormers. And I see some conditions for side windows and dormers that have to be met, but not for windows at the back.

We had a dormer loft conversion last year. Our house overlooks the property behind but we didn't need planning permission. I'd suggest speaking to another architect or going direct to your council's planning department to get advice.0

Does it increase the height of the roof? Only thing I can think of. We looked at putting one on our roof but we'd need an extra 30 cm up so PP required. Or is it a side dorma? Most dorma's over look other houses.
If there's other houses with similar dorma's, there's a better chance of you getting planning permission.0 -
I agree with the earlier comment, the gov technical guidance does not say anything about windows facing rearwards from a dormer conversion.

Class C has some roof related detail too.0 -

Where did you find that dormer information as it is not correct and does not apply to PD in England.
