Monzo Card, suspected fraud!

I just received Monzo card through my door, in my name! I didn't apply for this card. I contacted Monzo who weren't very helpful and say they will escalate it, but told me not to expect a call back.

I checked my experian account, nothing has shown saying any credit has been applied for, I'm shocked that someone can open bank account in my name and nothing is flagged there!

Has this happened to anyone else, should I be worried that there is something else happening here?!!!

This happened to my son, but with a Halifax card. He had no idea how a fraudster managed to get hold of his details as he is always careful shredding old paper etc. He contacted Halifax and they took it from there and initiated an investigation and cancelled any details.

It can take a while for things to appear on credit reports, multiple weeks if I'm not mistaken. I applied for a few bank accounts earlier this year and they didn't appear on my report for over a month.

So it might be a good idea to keep checking your report over the coming weeks in case anything else suspicious shows up. Don't forget the reports from TransUnion and Equifax as well.
