Bathroom renovation - keep existing suite?

No, sorry, I’m in the NW and managed to find a local company in the end. But it took me quite a while… best of luck, have you asked on FaceBook?silvercar said: Sorry to jump on your thread, are you anywhere near Hertfordshire? I’m looking for a floor sander.
Thanks @danrv, the builder/fitter I mentioned said the same thing when he came round earlier. He plans to put the wet wall above the bath, not behind it. Also cut the floor around the bath, but put the basin and toilet in top of the flooring. Sounds right?
So I have some decisions to make and if anyone can recommend wet/splash walling I’d be grateful! Also, flooring… any thoughts on cork?1 -
Yes, top floor can extend an inch or two under the bath edge. Hopefully yours isn't a cast iron type that I had.batman2000 said:He plans to put the wet wall above the bath, not behind it. Also cut the floor around the bath, but put the basin and toilet in top of the flooring. Sounds right?

Removing the current tiles will be a messy job, particularly if they're adhered well.
It's then a case of making the surface good for panelling or whatever. Often easier to take it all off and replaster or fit backer board.
I bought my panelling from bathroomcladdingdirect after getting some samples. Shower panels are 1m width.
There's a few options for flooring. Don't know much about cork. Maybe could dent easily.
I bought Malmo Marta click flooring from Topps Tiles. Waterproof with a built-in membrane and can sit directly on a good subfloor. Also considered Aquastep and Dumafloor.
Depending on bathroom size; a single sheet of vinyl could work from somewhere like Best4flooring.co.uk.
Easier to fit around the loo and basin if they're staying put.
