Hi everyone,

Ive had a life insurance and now come to a point where I want to cancel it.
My wife at the time persuaded me to get it and we have recently separated.
When I phoned Legal and General they said that the policy has a trustee (my ex wife) and that she would have to close the account.
I didn’t know she was a trustee but do remember her helping to set me up years ago.
We don’t talk and I do not wish to have anything to do with her. She wouldn’t be willing to help either.
The Legal and General advisor said that as I can’t get into contact with the trustee then I can cancel the direct debit and the policy will close after 60 days.
Does this sound ok to you all?
They said it wont affect my credit rating.

Thankyou.

Life insurance is one class where non-payment is a fairly standard way for cancellation, it's not something you'd have to declare on your Home insurance or such either.
