UPVC front door wont open

I am not sure there is much more I can do and its not really a DIY job. This happened last weekend and trying to find someone to come out is a nightmare.  My partner came in the door and locked it needed to go back out to the car.  Door unlocks but wont open.
We took the handle off and had a play and couldn't get it to open. Even tightened up the screws in the hinges and still no luck.
We then asked in a local FB group for recommendation.  Contacted the one that had the most recommendations.  That was 5 days ago they read the message and not bothered to reply.  We contacted a local double glazing firm who gave us two contacts.  The one that did reply said middle of may!!!!
We do have back door and exit out of our garden. But its not practical for us day to day. I have read a load of articles and watched videos about it.  I think I know the issue the multi point locking system is stuck.  But we can't seem to get it move from the door handle.
Hope for everything and expect nothing!!!

A 24hr locksmith will be expensive and is the least MSE option.

I'm interested that you say, 'We took the handle off and had a play and couldn't get it to open. Even tightened up the screws in the hinges and still no luck.'

Are they flag hinges? If so, you don't just tighten them, they are adjustment screws. I think that the espagnolette bars might have at first been just rubbing against the sockets and tightening those screws has forced them out of alignment and jammed the bars firmly into their sockets.

Slacken those screws back to where they were and perhaps a turn or two further. That might do the trick.

Just had this issue with a rental property, as luck would have it the locking mechanism was twin spindle, once the handle was off inserting the bar in the second spindle hole shifted the multipoint and managed to open it. The tenant had called a locksmith out - for a very reasonable £60 I might add - who offered to fit a new multipoint lock and barrel for £300 + Vat.

MSE fans will be delighted to know that when I declined this price it dropped to £200 plus callout, then to £200 all in fitted with a new barrel. Not a bad reduction from a £420 starting price, and I paid up.

(A twin spindle, also known as a dual spindle, operates the same as a split spindle. However, instead of having one spindle hole, there are two (as the name suggests). The spindle holes are commonly 30mm apart, meaning that the handles and lock operate on two separate spindles.)
