Attendance Allowance and LPA

Hi all,
Reposting here at the suggestion of another user.
I did do a search on here but can't quite find the answer I'm looking for.
I am about to start an application for my mum to get attendance allowance. On the website it says if you have LPA (which I am indeed registered as having) then the paper copy should be submitted instead of the online form.
I am unsure if this means 'if I am acting on behalf of my mum using the LPA due to her being incapacitated' or does it simply mean 'if I am registered as her LPA, then I can't do the online version'?
She is has full cognitive ability and has asked me to do the application as she finds completing forms difficult (she has always found form filling tricky).
So, I am registered as having LPA but not filling out the forms in that capacity.
Hopefully someone can advise!
Thank you.

I would suggest that if she understands and is able to "sign off" the forms that you helped her complete, then LPA doesn't come into it.3

Post here. You will get more help.

agree with masonic re the LPA
re the AA - make sure everything is termed in what's possible on a bad day. So maybe she can run for the bus a couple of times a week. But that means she's unable to hobble to the loo for the rest of the month. People don't want to appear unable/incompetent/unwilling. But that's what the AA is for is to help them be able.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Ring the attendance allowance helpline in order to get your claim date stamped (i.e so claim is backdated to then provided the forms are returned within 6 weeks). They will probably tell you that you will need to complete the paper form.I came, I saw, I melted1

Thanks all. I'll call the Attendance Allowance people tomorrow. I was actually worried about the amount of time it is taking me to even get started, so it's useful to know that they can log the date I phone them as the 'start' date.

I just completed one for my step dad. I filled it in on the computer. I looked at quite a bit of guidance because I didn’t want to get it wrong. He is registered blind. We talked it all through and he signed the application. He can see a tiny bit so he is ok to sign it if i point at the box. Still waiting for the outcome.1
