I am moving to Sky broadband and they will be dealing with the switch from Virgin Media.
Since the 360 box requires Virgin internet will that also be cancelled at the same time or will I have to contact Virgin about it?

Virgin TV needs to be cancelled directly with VM.0

Why does 360 box require virgin interent?
Even if it was a freebe from them. It does not know who is providing the connection.Life in the slow lane0 -
It is connected to the coax cable that comes into the house before the router.born_again said:Why does 360 box require virgin interent?

Virgin TV only works on their network.born_again said:Why does 360 box require virgin interent?

They will send you some packaging to return it to them. It won't run on someone else's broadband anyway - it doesn't connect to the router in any way.0

Ha, it threw me as well initially. They're talking about the Virgin 360 STB, not the Microsoft game console.born_again said:Why does 360 box require virgin interent?

It will still work but for on demand and anything that has to access the Internet they don't allow you to connect to any other broadband provider. The TV channels will still be delivered over cable unless you are full fibre to the property.0

I only have a Virgin 360 box because when I renewed my broadband 18 months ago, a month after I had renewed Sky Q it was cheaper to get Virgin broadband with 360 TV than broadband on its own.steven141 said:It will still work but for on demand and anything that has to access the Internet they don't allow you to connect to any other broadband provider. I have never watched it after it was set up and couldn't care less whether it will still work.
Also I am going from paying on renewal, Virgin £58 for broadband and TV and Sky £59 for my TV package to just paying Sky £73.50 for TV and FTTP broadband I'm saving £43.50 a month.
And I can get rid of Virgin's cables going from the lounge back outside and up to the upstairs office/bedroom where the modem and phone are.
Just have to decide whether to get a PCI WIFI card or USB WIFI dongle for my desktop computer upstairs in the spare office/bedroom0
