Vax Gauantee

Hi guys, I bought a Vax hard floor cleaner in March 2021 with a three year warranty. Unfortunately, a pipe split from the main body to the head of the machine. Vax were very good, and replaced the machine, minus batteries, in February 2023. All good so far.
Now this replacement has also had the same problem! On speaking to them today, even though I have an email giving me a three year warranty and a purchase date of 13/02/2023, they are saying that the warranty runs from the original purchase date of March 2021 and is therefore the replacement machine is not in warranty. Does this seem fair. I'm sure that if they are willing to give a new machine a three year warranty, why wouldn't a new replacement have the same period of warranty? Advice please

The warranty generally runs from the original purchase date, doesn't get reset if they replace the item. A warranty can have any (reasonable) terms and condition, this one seems reasonable and normal.2

Create a pdf of the email stating the 13/2/23 date. Make the guarantee claim in writing. Follow their complaints policy if the matter is not resolved. If you don't get anywhere then make a claim under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.1

I have written to their complaints department expressing my concerns. I am awaiting their reply. Thanks guys.0

Did you purchase it direct from Vax?0

Since Vax replaced the original and it is the replacement that has failed any claim would be to Vax.1

Yes, I did purchase it direct from Vax. They have replied quoting their warranty terms and conditions. "- If we replace your product, any remaining period will automatically transfer to your replacement product and will not extend beyond the original period "
They have offered me a discount on a new cleaner which will have a full warranty again.
Think I'll be trying a different brand as they obviously have an issue with the longevity of their product.
Thanks for your replies.0 -
For balance, I bought a Vax vacuum in 2006 that came with a six year warranty. In the six years they replaced three components without quibble, and did the same for a fourth some two years after the warranty expired when I contacted them to buy a new part.0
