    Thanks again

So I purcashed from Marshalls  - who sell MINI Approved Used Cars. As it was a 10yr old used car,  I decided to go for the warranty in case of breakdown support needed.

They are also the ones who are also quoting the 3K to fix
They can't reattach the flexi hose due to corrosion at the end of the hose/ breakline (sorry - I am not technical and reading notes from mechanic)
Symptoms was a squeaking noise from the left rear wheel (that comes and goes - hence being hard to pin point)

So why wasn’t it an Approved Used Mini with a Mini warranty ? What you appear to have bought is a Mini from a car supermarket with an overpriced/underspecced warranty.

Join one of the Mini FB groups/forums and find a local specialist who can tell you what the real issue is how much it will really cost to fix

I would doubt that this car would get a official Mini warranty @ 10 years old.

It looks like they sell a lot of older mini's.

It certainly looks like any old mini they are selling has a Marshall Approved Used. 90 Day warranty and not a 12 month mini approved used warranty

    There are two schemes

Mini Approved Used  which has 12 month warranty

and Mini used  which 12 months warranty for parts only and  90 days  warranty.  They claim these cars are prepared to Mini approved standards.

Thanks all -  so in conclusion, what should I do? The car is in bits on the ramp and they can't put it back together as they can't attach the flexihose... so I can't take the car (unless it is towed/ on a ramp) to another garage.
I feel as if I have been backed into a corner and have few options. I can join FB to get specialist quotes... I can contact consumer advice...?
    Thanks again

    You have three choices.

    1. hand over £3000 and forget about suing, as you won’t have sufficient evidence.

    2. get an independent inspection done whilst the car is at marshals, IF they will allow it

    3. have the car towed to an independent garage
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
