Closing Hampshire Trust Bank account is slow - anyone done it?

HTB's preferred method of closing an account is by secure message, with the "close the account" box ticked - this fills in the message text as "close my account", and stops you from editing it more.
I sent that on Sunday 6th; they say "we aim to reply to all messages within 3 working days". Now on the 4th working day, there's still no sign of anything being done. Has anyone experience of closing an account with them - what worked? A phone call? I'd like my money from them (the account is already at the minimum £1; it's more the interest that they owe me). Closing an account that's operated online should not take so long.

Been a while since I ad a HTB account, I remember taking the balance down to a pound by withdrawal first, then closed by message. I think closure took 48 hours.1

Just logged back in and saw I sent a secure message on a Saturday, they replied on the Tuesday and it was paid that day. (The Monday was a normal working day)0

Having heard nothing, after 5 working days I phoned them. They closed it on the phone and I had my accumulated interest credited to my nominated bank account within the hour.
Give them a ring.1
