Can I be Charged Delivery to Return Internet Item Within 14 Days?

Options
Hi,

I'm an idiot that bought a car battery online. It arrived in worse condition than the 4 year old one I was replacing. The company have said they will collect it and charge me for the delivery if they determine there's nothing wrong with it. So of course they will determine there's nothing wrong with it. Also, they delivery guy has failed to turn up twice now, saying I wasn't home. So just to add insult to injury, do you think I'm on the meter for 2+ collection attempts?. Thanks.

    Worse condition in what way?
As some delivered batteries do need charging before installing.

Surely you can look up at their website how they deal with returns? How are people here meant to know? Typically if you change your mind about an item you have to pay for the return but if it is defective it should be free.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

If there is something wrong with the battery they should pay the return.

If there isn’t and it’s change of mind under the cancellation regulations the customer should pay, that assumes the required information states such and, as in this case the goods can not be returned via normal post, the cost of return is also stated.
