Hi there, can I get some help please

I was looking at a computer case for a MSI B760 GAMING PLUS WIFI Motherboard, ATX and a MSI GeForce RTX 3060 VENTUS 2X 12G OC Gaming Graphics Card.

But something sleek, not massive as it has to go on a desk, USB 3.0 front ports and an easy to see power button, I was also looking at an old school horizontal case, all ideas welcome, would an ITX case be better, throwing ideas out there would be great, I am looking at a Intel® Core™ i5-14600K Desktop Processor so form factor etc.

Any ideas and links would be great. xxx

Your case won't exactly be small if it's to house an ATX motherboard.  Something like this looks good:

I'd start by looking at uk.pcpartpicker.com.

Is there a reason why it can't be a tower? Insisting on an old fashioned horizontal desktop case is a very severe restriction.

OK it could be a tower but something smaller than larger, I used to have a Fractal Design Pop Mini Silent and that was too big, any suggestions are more than welcome, ATX or mATX, oh and no glass panels just a solid, even a square size would be fine.

Are you committed to that specific motherboard? If not MSI do 2 B760 mini ITX boards

And there will of course be others from other makers.

I'd also recommend pcpartpicker as they do a fairly decent job at flagging part incompatibilities for you. Personally I tend to choose a case first, and then then double check what components will fit, unless I'm working with existing parts.

ATX parts almost certainly won't fit an ITX case (hopefully for obvious reasons) and ITX also tends to be more expensive. MicroATX could be a decent halfway house, but same issues with compatibility, etc. In either situation, going smaller means you could start to run up against cooling limits if you don't plan it out properly, particularly for power hungry parts like the 14600K you mention.

Hi guys and thanks for all of the suggestions, I did however take on board what everyone said and had a rethink and ordered a Prime AP201Micro ATX case, so I know it will see some dust and need a clean now and again but the size is great and so is the ventilation as that is going to be paramount for me.

    Cheers

That's a good choice - I have that case myself (white with tempered glass side panel) that I've built in and I quite like it. The mesh lets a bit of dust in, but haven't had any issues with temps. Easy enough to blow it out every so often if you don't let it build up

An ATX motherboard won't fit in a MicroATX case.

What way did you install the PSU, I was always told warm air needs to be vented out so I have the main fan pointing out towards the front and the warm air goes up out the top.
