Travel insurance - adult children and parents separate insurance

Options
Hello.
We have got quote for travel insurance. Some may recall about /meus found it very difficult to get travel insurance as many medical conditions etc.

Now, at least one of our adult children is thinking of travelling out with us and returning before us due to lack of annual leave.

My question is about us wanting to keep our insurance separate and our adult son or daughter taking out their own travel insurance as IIRC, they have annual cover as go away several times a year.

Question I'd like an answer to is. What would happen if we could not go for some reason and because of this our son/daughter would not want to go either as the main reason they are thinking of going is about joining us for a few days.

I hope I'm clear but if not, please ask and I will respond.

'not wanting to go' is not a suitable claim
if a close relative were say in hospital suddenly that would be a reason for claim

Check if  her policy states she is covered for not travelling because travelling companion cannot go.

It would then depend on why you couldn’t travel.

Being due to a  pre  existing medical condition  of yours would need clarified with her insurer,

Thanks, Will do  - hopefully it does not happen but best aware etc as our daughter or son won't want to go if we don't go.

Will depend on the terms of their policy and the reason you arent travelling

Covering them for not travelling because of your pre-existing conditions is going to be very difficult if not on the same policy. Some are slightly better, if they are careful with who they buy from, in covering them if travelling companions cannot travel for reasons other than health that would have been covered had you been on the same policy
