Morning, thanks @Scarlet. Just got there before me. I stopped to read back the last two posts from yesterday.@DP1 - what a dreadful time for your DD and little one. No wonder DD had a fright. I'm so glad that it turned out well. Hugs to them both. 💕💕 Abd congratulations to @Topsy for the long awaited operation. I hope that it's successful and that you heal well. Take good care. 💕
The exercise class was good even though I upped the weight and then used two resistance bands 😱 can't keep doing the same every week. I almost regretted it but feel better for it. On the way I stopped to speak to a friend, well she stopped walking to let me past and I slowed right down. Anyway, she invited me to call for a cuppa when coming back, so I did. We had a lovely time just chatting and putting the works to rights.Earlier I managed to get the washing lad out on the line before leaving. Joy! That meant that it was all dry when I got home. Mind you most of it had a large number of flying insects making it their 'beach'. So many, and they were not easy to shake off. I suppose that comes with having white bedding and knickers. The insects weren't interested in the coloured clothes. 😂 All shaken, folded and put away before a late lunch. This morning I'm heading part way down the road to meet up with Camelot for a wee bite to eat and a long overdue catch up.Hugs to all, especially the poorlies and sads. 💕10 -
Morning again, another nice morning here, but it'll probably be cold again.
The Book Club was ok yesterday, and in the afternoon we went out for a walk. We should walk more really.
We should be away this week, but dh was not well last week and the Dr advised him not to drive, especially towing the caravan, so we had to cancel.
Hi Nanny, glad to see you back.
Dp1, hope your Dd and the little one are ok.
Thinking of the sad and poorly, hope you make a good recovery Topsy.
Take care folks.14 -
Morning All
Dry and bright again, can't believe how good the weather has been lately although I know it won't last!
Yesterday was a catalogue of disasters, went for the train to Glasgow to find they were all cancelled, decided to get the bus only to see one sail past and 20 minutes until the next one. Went back home to get the car to drive to another station that has trains to the other Glasgow station, got caught in a traffic jam so decided to drive all the way in. Just passed a petrol station and the petrol light came on so got to a local station and managed to get a train. I was exhausted when I got to the restaurant!
The restaurant wasn't very good for a 'posh' place, the server was grumpy, my starter was cold and one of our party's salmon was so overcooked she couldn't cut it! Anyway, they took the offending dishes off the bill and apologised. Certainly won't be returning.
Once home I was annoyed that I had missed a good day that I could have spent painting the fence - that will be tackled when I've had a long overdue catch up with the lovely Gers.
Hope you have a swift recovery Topsy.
Shame you couldn't get away Scarlet.
Well done on the exercise Gers.
Hope the little one is ok dp1, what a fright your DD must have had.
Must go out and get a brush for the fence paint, I thought I had one but must have used it last year.
Hope you're all well, take care. XX

Morning all
Lovely bright day here again but still chilly, I have three people coming today and we were going to the cinema they only show films at a good time for us in the school holidays, but looking at the weather for next Tuesday shows a lot of rain so we have swapped the weeks and will go walking today and cinema next week, we will go to a local nature reserve today for a walk along the coast line and have lunch and a cuppa while there.
DD is off today so she will probably cook dinner we have a choice of pork chops, spag bol or a chicken and chorizo bake, I’m guessing she will want the pork chops but we will see.
There is washing to hang on the line once it’s finished and I need to run the hoover over this morning.
Gers and Camelot enjoy your meet xx
Scarlett shame about your holiday xx
DP1 oh poor little one I hope she is ok xx
Topsy hope your recovery goes well xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning all. Sunny here but doesn't feel very warm.
Got back last night from a great few days in Lyon, France. We were 5 friends travelling on Eurostar and the French train system - used to be 8 of us but the remaining 3 are no longer well enough to come. We had beautiful weather and were walking around in t shirts most of the time, plus the food was excellent. Well, apart from Saturday night, when we took a random place to eat because everywhere was so busy, then DH ordered a burger which upset his stomach the following day. He's still not really recovered but it hasn't put us off and we're looking into Copenhagen for next year. Our first trip, about 12 years ago, was to Porto, and we try to find European cities that none of us have visited, which is getting harder. Only one of us has been to Denmark before and that was about 15 years ago, hence trying Scandinavia.
So, the first load of washing is drying and the second load is washing, then I shall do a shopping list for fresh food and head out to the shops. Need to do some music practice as it's Oxford Folk Festival at the weekend and I'll be there all day Saturday.
So sorry to hear about LO's hypo; so sudden and scary for everyone.
Hope everyone else is doing ok and the nice weather continues. We had an overnight frost!11 -
Morning all from sunny Devon,
We are headed for Launceston today on the Two Castles Trail. Hoping it is well marked as some routes aren’t!
Hugs to your DGD @dp1 such a fright for your DD xx
Have a good day everyone

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It's sad that you have had to cancel your little trip. It's a bit foggy this morning but feels mild and the sun is due to return shortly!
I have the hairdresser coming this morning and she cut is so short last time that it isn't ready for another trim yet, but she is having a nasty op next week and may be out of action for a while, depending how it goes. So after dithering I have decided to get it done, with strict instructions that I only want the minutest bit off the ends! I'll keep an eye on her scissors! Not sure about yesterday's colour that was done in readiness. It looks darker but if the sun keeps shining it will soon fade I suppose. Tuesday lunch with DF has been postponed until tomorrow.
Yesterday the pesky wind had finally left for pastures new and it was lovely sitting in the warm sunshine for a while. I wasn't entirely slothful though, I kept getting up to water a few pots/planters. I seem to have lost some stuff over the winter and I blame the March winds and lack of rain for drying everything up.
Seeing as I put the spare freezer back on for all DD's bargains last week I decided to sort my rammed freezer out yesterday morning and transfer some stuff in it! I knew cutting back to just the tall upright wouldn't last long! I now know where everything is without rummaging for it.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Dp1 what a worrying time for your DD but pleased all was well in the end. TOPSY get well soon wishes for you. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Hello all, it's sunny but a bit chilly here. Yesterday was spent in the garden when some shrubs had a haircut and I filled 2 large green waste bins, then the patio was de-weeded. Unfortunately I know I've been using the secateurs and the pruning saw as my hands and shoulders are complaining this morning ! In the afternoon I sat outside and read my book. Today will be more pottering in the garden as my body allows, then reading. I'm afraid the window cleaning didn't happen but that can wait for another time. Tea tonight will be a bolognaise pasta bake, the bolognaise sauce has been defrosting overnight so it will just be a throw it all together for later.
dp1 what a shock for your family, I hope little one is feeling much better today.
Coxy well done on all the walking, I'm cheering you on !
Camelot what a terrible day you had yesterday, hope today is better.
Gers enjoy your visit with Camelot.
Topsy glad you've finally had your op, hope the recovery goes smoothly.
WL welcome back, hope DH feels better today.
Scarlet sorry DH wasn't well enough to tow your van. We went on hols without towing ours last week too.
RedRuby good call, enjoy the weather while you can.
TA hope your hairdresser can leave you some hair ! Shame about losing some plants though.
Take care all, stay well and safe.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
Morning all and thanks to @Scarlet for the start. When I opened the curtains this morning I got a shock - no sun!! It should be here soon but for now it's quite misty and looking a bit damp underfoot.
I too read the last two posts from yesterday before coming on here. @dp1 - What a dreadful experience for LO and your DD, things were going so well too. Such a shame she's had to miss yet another school event.
@topsy - Best wishes for a speedy recovery, take it easy.
@camelot - That really was a day of disasters for you yesterday - it reminded me of an 80's film called Clockwise (John Cleese). I hope your meet-up with Gers today is more enjoyable.
As planned, I cleaned out the kitchen cupboard yesterday and found a few more items of crockery I don't need any more, now added to the CS pile. There's one more cupboard to go through (baking bowls, casserole dishes etc); after that I'll arrange a CS trip with DS - the space under the stairs where I keep CS donations is rammed. One other must-do job for today is a towels wash, after that maybe a walk. Tea tonight is a jacket potato with pork steak in BBQ sauce and steamed cabbage.
Right, time to load up the WM so I'll leave you to enjoy your day. Hugs where needed or wanted, take care all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Cold but sunny. Need to get jobs done in the garden
dp1 hope LO is feeling better
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12
