Incorrect tariff for Eon Next in comparison

Just did a comparison against my existing Eon Next tariff to see if I could save money. According to the CEC site, yes I could, by switching to EDF. However, when I checked my latest bill I found that the Eon tariff was reported completely incorrectly, even down to the early exit fee (I don't have one). In fact, both gas and electric are more expensive with the EDF deal, and the combined standing charge is also higher. So glad I did my own check before switching.

Yes, looks like VAT. Cheap Energy Club includes it, the tariff info you've shared doesn't.

I know my tariff has an exit fee, the e-mail on change of tariff states there is one, but my bills state none.  What does the e-mail you received at the time state ?
  • Yes, closer examinations says charges don't include VAT. And my "welcome letter" says £50 exit fee per fuel.
Wonder what would happen if I did switch and challenged it. Past experience is that the online help is useless (artificial stupidity) but if you phone them you get stuff done.
