How close can you get to Inner London?

You can also park at Park Royal (Acton) where the cinema is for free and then walk the 3/4 mins to the tube station, thats about 30 mins or so to central london.

I very much doubt you can park at any tube station for free, unless you find some on street parking, which most of the daily commuters will have already found and taken !

Coming in from the M40 you are better parking at the places people have suggested above (Hillingdon, Beaconsfield etc) and then taking the tube to Old Street.

There would be no benefit in terms of time, if you were to drive to North or North East London and then tube it from there to Old Street.

Hillingdon station charges for use of its car park - at least in the week. It may be free or a bit cheaper at the weekend.

I thought I would let you know what ACTUALLY happened! We had decided to drive to Hillingdon as the best prices I could get from Warwick Parkway was £29 each. However, as we were passing the station my wife suggested we pop in and ask how much. She was quoted £45 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) which included an all day tube and bus pass for all of us! Needless to say, we jumped on the next train and had a great day out.
