Poundland...good for packaging supplies

I guess most of you know this already but I was in my local poundland and picked up a pack of 10 9x7 inch jiffy bags, a pack of 50 same size brown envelopes, a pack of 25 A4 brown envelopes, and 3pack of brown parcel tape....obviously all a pound each.
I often use the self seal plastic mailing bags but find they seem to fill with air and cannot get away with sending things as large letter so was pleased to see the brown envelopes as they will save me a few quid.
They were also selling bubble wrap but it didn't look to be much....I pressume these places all have similar stock, so go have a look
Also tell us your bargain finds that could help with ebaying.....

OOh, I love the pound shop padded bags. We have two different shops in town, the £1 shop and the 99p shop and both their bags are slightly different sizes so I keep a huge stock of each.

I get through hundreds and even though I checked with Viking and the other stockists I couldn't beat the price of the pound shop ones.

The only other packaging supplies I have used from there is the tissue paper. A while ago I started to try and sell baby items and used to bag them in plastic and then wrap in tissue paper. I think it was 36 sheets for a pound. However it was coloured and so liable to bleed (hence th eplastic bagging first) and I was lousy at selling baby stuff and gave up and donated all my stock to the charity shop and went back to what I know best.

Yeah my local poundland is great for stuff like that and it's always in stock there. We also have a 99p store (every penny counts!) which has packaging stuff on occasions.

No one is cheaper than the £ & 99p
    shops for jiffy bags

I also use the 10p bags for life from
    the supermarkets for larger clothing
    items like jumpers,jackets,skirts etc

I also get all my bubble wrap from
the fruit boxes at the supermarkets
they seem happy for you to take it
    off their hands.

Also keep a look out among the
rolls of christmas wrap there is
a type that looks like brown
wrapping paper with patterns on it
its very often overlooked in the
    reductions and ends being knocked
down as low as 20p a roll.Just use
it with the plain reverse side showing..

I can remember buying white tissue
    very reasonably on ebay.

Also when you recieve letters in the post
that have your name and address printed
on them, be it on envelopes or in the
    content of the letters themselves
cut of your name and address before
shredding and re-use them as return address
labels on your parcels.I have a little pot that
I put them in and keep it handy for when I
    am packing.Saves on printing.

I used Poundland for my supplies, but in the quantities i was buying, i found that JWS Packaging on ebay was actually cheaper, so i ordered from them about once a month on a load of different items.

No worries. Glad to share them on here. Their flat delivery charge of £6.95 is really reasonable too.

I don't do much selling on ebay anymore, but i still use them occasionly.

A few that i always used were:
    170mm x 230mm Grey Mailing Bags x 100 - £2.49
    50 C/0 Mail Lite Envelopes - £3.60
    100 G/4 Mail Lite Envelopes - £12.45
10 Marker Pens for 99p (other colours available for £1.20)

    Happy Shopping!
