Morning all, and thanks @Gers for starting us off. Another sunny day in store with just a very light breeze, a good start to the school holidays. We may have had a little frost overnight but, if so, I didn't see it because I had a lie in this morning.
As planned, I had a very lazy day yesterday. After sending off the order for paint etc, the most strenuous thing I did was to wash a pretty set of 6 porcelain teacups and saucers that belonged to my late DM; they've been stuck at the back of a cupboard for I don't know how long, never used and very grubby. I'm not ready to part with them yet though and will be making an effort to use them. The cupboard they were in needs a clean out too so that's today's main task; there might be a few items in there that could go to the CS. Tea tonight is a salad that will use up what's left of some tinned salmon and the last bit of pickled beetroot.
@Scarlet - I hope the Book Club is more enjoyable than you're expecting.
@Izzy - Reading between the lines, I think your ex-employers have found it hard without you but I'm glad you don't miss it.
@Gers - I wonder if the bumblebees have taken up residence somewhere nearby? When I had a garden, one year they took over my compost bin for a little while, I think the attraction was a very prolific ceanothus next to the bin.
@TA - Happy new hair colour (fingers crossed).
@nanny - I often think all the washing etc after a holiday is such a bind but it sounds as if you've cracked it. Best wishes for a good blood test result.
No other news so I'll stop waffling and get on with that cupboard before the sun gets round to the kitchen and turns it into a sauna! Take care and enjoy your day. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Morning all
A bright but chilly start again. No plans yet for today, but I know DH has to sort out his car insurance, meaning he will ask my opinion.
Chicken curry for me tonight and chicken chips and curry sauce for him. Yesterday I had a go at cooking a roast in the air fryer. I wasn't happy with it, although DH said it was nice. More practice needed.
Have a good day, hugs to all who need them. Take care.9 -

Hello everyone
A late one from me. I shouldn't have said little one was improving....they were about to leave for school this morning when she collapsed and was unconscious on the floor! DD got her up and she came around but then went unconscious again...her blood sugar was just 1.5. Luckily the ambulance came quickly, 10 minutes later and it would have been away on another job. Anyways, by the time they got there...the hospital is 60 miles away...she was ok again, so was allowed home by late afternoon. Doctors had no idea why it happened, but DD got an awful fright, it was the worst her sugars have been.
I felt so upset for her as school was going out for the morning and she was really excited to go.
Thought I'd better update you all as I have an early hair appointment in the morning x9 -
DP1 - hope Dgd is feeling better, what a shock for your DD.
Been reading along every day. Finally had my shoulder op which had to be postponed 2 years ago when Ds2 had his accident. Off work for a few weeks and DM has come down to help me.
hope you are all enjoying the sunshine. Take Care.10
