Horizon Parking Charge for Charging (leased) EV at Tesco

Hi, I recently went to manchester and needed to leave my car on charge. A 7kW podpoint charger was available at a Tesco so I grabbed a meal deal and left the car charging which resulted in 'exceeding the maximum stay period'
It is a lease car, the notice from Horizon went to the leasing company who have passed on my details so I am assuming I will get a notice in the post soon. £40 within 14 days or £70.

Could anyone please advise on where I stand for being issued a Parking Charge for refuelling my vehicle?

thanks

Try the NEWBIES thread clear advice re 'plan A' while you await your NTH.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Contact the CEO of Tesco asking what sort of scam is he running ?
Horizon tried to scam me a few years agao. Where I parked there was no white lines yet when Horizon sent pictures, fresh white lines had been painted and a fesh notice ... NO PARKING.

    Tesco cancelled

Charging isn't parking. It is refuelling.  Is an ICE vehicle "parked" while you fill it up with petrol?  No.

There was a similar post today about Instavolt where they denied all knowledge of having to pay for parking when the poster had already paid for charging and, because they had not separately paid for parking received a PCN.  I'll say "opportunism"; others would have said scam!

Thanks All, I have done a bit of reading on here before I posted and I saw some references to the definitions of parking and refuelling is not one of them. Does anyone have any cases to reference if I need to? I'll contact tesco for now and await the horizon scam letter through the door.

Tesco have said they have nothing to do with the process and I have to dispute the notice with Horizon. They also state that "our stores will normally have an entry sign and further terms and conditions signs throughout the carpark  itself. They apply to everyone whether they're spending money in store, eating in a cafe grabbing a prescription or charging an electric vehicle etc"

TESCO are fobbing you off.  Horizon is their favoured parking company and whilst they do not get involced in the process, THEY CAN CANCEL.
You have a choice just like others .... don't shop at Tesco, go to another supermarket who respects their customer which Tesco don't

Not sure about others but Morrisons is Europarks and Lidl something else (or vv).
There's been a rash of them in my rural area including one that's taken all the trade away from a tiny scenic end of road that only has 4 tiny craft shops and 3 tea rooms which has come under Horizon. It's privately owned but recently under the control of Savilles who recruited them. Just waiting to see if the landowner intervens if he's loosing rents.
But the big stores won't notice if you don't shop there.

If it's anything like our Tesco, it's 20 identical looking signs, 3 of which are the terms and conditions on further inspection, and none of the T&Cs are actually anywhere near the entrance to the store. Like a needle in a haystack, except you're not looking for one because the nearest sign to you will be about paying for extra parking only, so why examine the rest?

Savills are the best of managing agents for getting PCNs cancelled. They know the risk to their retail shops losing customers and almost always 'protect' them from the byproduct of PCNs!
