Morning all from sunny but cold Mehefinland
Glad to 'see' you back Nanny -
2 people came for poo yesterday lunchtime - so the pile is diminished a little- about as much as a pimple on a bumbut every little helps. Bitterly cold wind again, but if you could get out of the blast it was quite warm in the sun. Hoping for similar today as I need to start painting the house soon. It is a case of need to but cba.
Went to a Twmpath Dans ( Ceilidh for you Celts) last night in the local town. It was the Mayor's fundraiser towards the Seawatch centre. Quite a good night but strange going on my own. Didn't stop me having some fun and the band was good. The lady calling the dances was extremely funny - apparently she dines out on the fact that she was the caller for the 'Barn Dance' in Gavin and Stacy - it took 2 days to film it! We massacred the same dance in about 5 minutes last night. It got more riotous as the evening went on, and the alcohol consumption loosened the British stiff upper lip inhibitions ! All in all ,a good evening and brought back a lot of memories of when Dawn and I used to go regularly to these sort of events. Must have been good as I overslept this morning and got the grumpy looks from the animals
Car failed its MOT with a broken spring yesterday so it will revisit the garage on Wednesday to be fixed. If that was all, it was a reasonable result as I live in pothole vale ( more like Beirut in the bad times) so reckon i got off lightly.
Hugs and spoons as always , and hope you poodles are improving

Morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet. It's another day of bright blue sky and sun with a gentle breeze and promises to be so for the week to come too. It's so nice to be able to be out and about without the winter trappings of coat, scarf etc but not yet warm enough for summer clothes to make an appearance so jumpers are still the order of the day. If only that cool breeze would disappear ......... The sun has brought out the ice cream vans (two around here), usually around 4pm, but they don't seem to be doing much trade at the moment.
I had a busy day yesterday and managed to fit in a walk too. The peanut butter bars turned out well and I even added a touch of luxury to them with a drizzle of chocolate on top, courtesy of half a bar of cooking chocolate that was on the Must Use Up list. The order for decorating supplies is ready to go off today, not bothered what day they deliver as this coming week is flexible. When I was running the vac over the stair carpet I noticed a few errant cobwebs high up in the stairwell, much too high up for me to reach, so I'll have to get DS to evict them. One of the perils of being vertically challenged!
It being Sunday, I'm giving myself a day off from the housework etc. Tea tonight is a sausage casserole, mash and steamed cabbage, fruit & jelly for afters.
Nice to see you back @nanny, good to hear your stay in Devon was restful. Fingers crossed tomorrow's blood test goes well.
@mehefin - Shame about the MOT but so glad to hear you enjoyed your night out.
Take care all, enjoy the day whatever you may be planning to do - or not!Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning all
Sunny but still cold here, OH got the gazebo put up yesterday and put the new garden table together we just need to put the cushion covers on today and then we will be ready for some hot weather (please ) it was too cold to eat out yesterday so we will have to wait a while.
I went to sainsbugs yesterday as they have lamb beef and salmon on 1/2 price with a nectar card I got one of each I got 16 salmon steaks out of the side so good value for £16 they have all been put in the freezer I may go back and get some more to freeze as they have given me a £6 off coupon we can’t afford lamb any other time as it’s just too expensive.
DP1 I remember asking my mum the same question re babies and she said your dad has a special tool to put the baby into the mum, for ages I thought it was a shovel as you would need something big to lift a baby with 😂😂😂
Dinner tonight will be chicken salad with mash I bought a whole chicken so it will do for sandwiches during the week too, I have some salads left from yesterday too, the tomato and dill one was simply delicious so I will do that again, I made some dill butter with leftover cream to go with the salmon when we have it.
Mehefin your night out sounds brilliant x
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Just a quick drive by to post up a photograph I took of the vending machine. I had to go into town anyway for the tip so zipped to the main street first. Not operational yet, and no opening date! The blurb on the left is about depositing scripts with or without barcodes.10

Morning
Another bright sunny start, I could get used to this.
I load of washing done, and big dogs food being cooked. When we adopted him from the rescue he was very underweight so to fatten him up I started cooking his food. Ox heart or pig heart, veggies and rice. It suited him so well and he started to put weight on, so I've continued to do it, every couple of days. A job for life I think, well his life anyway.
Dp1, I've also got the £5 voucher for Lids, but won't be using it as I want to stock up on their Easter meat, (says she).
Mehefin, OHs car also failed the year before last on a broken spring. Says a lot about our roads.
Off to give big dogs gruel a stir. Have a good day everyone and hugs to all who need them. Take care.8 -
@Gers
Just spotted an article on BBC Wales news about a similar sort of machine being trialled in Dolgellau. It is called REMEDY and is a Europe first apparently. Sounds as if it stocks a range of anti biotics, inhalers etc, and the patient is sent a code by their GP to access the relevant items.7 -

Evening everyone - thanks for the good wishes for our hike. We did 14.5 miles yesterday and another 11 today. We are now close to our Airbnb so an earlier start tomorrow and we will walk towards Launceston. We are approximately half a day ahead of schedule but will slow up once we hit Cornwall and the SWCP.DH having the time of his life going to NT properties and eating ice cream. The weather here is amazing right now. 😊Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings8
