Police pulled me to inform car's been cloned - Can i get PCN's cancelled?

I follow the usual guidance on this forum to fight PCN's - recently I have noticed a larger uptake.
I travel for work and park in car parks where of course I do try and follow the rules although not always possible and sometimes I do end up with a Private Parking PCN.
However last weekend on a trip to London I was pulled over by the police who informed me my car had been cloned. It was a fairly short conversation as my car is an A5 and they've cloned it as an RS5 (clowns) so they let me go quickly and they gave me a crime reference number.
My question is can I just start sending this crime reference back to all of these private companies who are sending me letters as there are more and more piling up and it's a pain to deal with. Or are they just going to ignore them and get their debt collectors/solicitors to threaten me anyway...
Just trying to save some time if I can..
Also if I did got to court I'm assuming this would be a help?

You are going to have to appeal each and every one, showing the Police crime ref and proof that your V5C is for an A5, whereas these PCNs show a different car with cloned plates.
And tell the DVLA KADOE complaints team to flag this crime number and stop handing out your data for PCNs involving a RS5.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
