Docking station for Predator

A shot in the dark, this one.
Someone with a Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop asked me about a docking station for their laptop.
I've tried three different usb-c (Amazon) varieties and none of them will oick up the two HDMI monitors. The laptop picks up the usb (2) ports on the docking station, but not the hdmi ports.
I also tried connecting the laptop to a very old usb2 docking station and it picked up the HDMI no bother. That docking station had it's own main supply.
Is this a power issue on the usb-c port? Is there a driver I'm missing?
Is this an issue specific to that particular laptop model?

The Helios 300 is a range. Does this particular laptop have a USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port? Does it have the nVidia drivers for monitors over USB-C?
