This prize is referred to as the Prize Package in these Rules.

👉  There are a few additional conditions from the Prize Provider which apply to this Prize Package:

Škoda Elroq car hire:

1. The car will be supplied by the Prize Provider from Thursday 1st May until Monday 5th May 2025 and must be returned when stipulated by the Prize Provider. 
2. The car must not be taken outside of the UK.
3. The car can only be used by the drivers which meet the requirements set out by the Prize Provider.
4. The car may be used for the purposes of the 2 night getaway to the Lake District and cannot be used for general personal use
5. A full driving licence must be presented to the Prize Provider or its agency before the car is handed over to the driver (a DVLA driving licence check code will be required).
6. The authorized driver must observe and adhere at all times to the conditions of the Prize Provider’s motor insurance policy, which can be provided to the winner on request.
7. The driver(s) acknowledge responsibility for the payment of all fixed penalty notices, parking fees, speeding fines, fines as a result of bespoke congestion or emissions charging schemes or exclusion zones, fines for use of mobile phones while driving or any similar fines imposed under any relevant legislation (whether notified directly by the relevant authority or by the Prize Provider and whether in the United Kingdom or any other country).  Failure to settle fines at the time of imposition may result in an additional administration charge (to a maximum of £100 + VAT) payable to Prize provider at it’s discretion.
8. The winner is responsible to return the Škoda Elroq car to the Prize Provider fully charged and at their own cost. 
9.  To use the Škoda Elroq the driver(s) must:

• be at least 19 years of age;
• have a full and valid driving licence (non-UK driving licences are valid only for 1 year;
• have at least two years’ of driving experience while qualified with a valid driving licence;
• have no more than 9 penalty points on your driving licence - Up to two SP (speeding), CU (construction and use), MW (motorway), PC (pedestrian crossing) or TS (traffic direction and signs) convictions in the last 36 months (provided there was no driving ban, no more than 9 points were applied across both convictions and only a fixed penalty was imposed).

Other conditions:

1. Winner and their guests must be able to travel on the following dates only: Friday 2nd May until Sunday 4th May 2025. 
2. Winner and their guests will be staying in a 4* hotel, sharing 2 x double rooms with en-suite bathroom. Dinner* and breakfast will be provided during their stay. *A three-course dinner in the Rampsbeck restaurant per night, per person and Swim Club sessions included. 
3. Guided kayaking in the Lake District is based on 4 adults. This experience will last approx. 2.5 hours. All equipment will be provided as well as an instructor. Please bring outdoor clothing, suitable for the conditions on the day. Please arrive 15 minutes before your session starts. Participants should have a reasonable level of fitness for this experience. Subject to availability.
4. The Steam Yacht Gondola cruise on Coniston water cruise is based on 4 adults. This will be in the form of £100.00 spending money and the winner should book and pay for this themselves at Coniston Water. Cruise is subject to availability. 
5. A self-guided audio tour is provided through a smartphone travel tool. Winner will need to download the application onto their smartphone devices prior to their tour. Tour can be started, paused, or restarted at any time and can be completed at the winner’s own pace. Detailed starting point instructions are available after downloading. 
6. All spending money will be transferred directly to the winner upon confirmation of full and correct bank details. 

WHEN CAN I ENTER THE COMPETITION?

Start Date: 12:15 am on 2nd April 2025

End Date: 11:45 pm on 27th April 2025

HOW DO I ENTER?

Step 1:  Submit your answer in 50 words or less  in the competition mechanic on this URL to this question: What’s the most spontaneous thing you’ve ever done?

Step 2: That’s it! Just make sure you submit your entry in accordance with Step 1  before the End Date.

WHO CAN ENTER?

The Competition is open to all UK residents over the age of 19, except employees of Time Out and the Prize Provider, its agents, contractors and their family members or anyone else professionally connected to this Competition.  The winner must be aged 19 or over - you will not be eligible for the Prize Package if you are under 19.. You can only enter once - multiple entries will not be accepted. 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

This is a game of skill: chance plays no part in determining the winner. The judging panel consists of Rose Johnstone and an independent judge from travel Freelancer who will select the winner with the most spontaneous answer. The winner will be notified by Time Out by email and phone within 24 hours  of the End Date.

 If you are a winner, you agree to participate in publicity which may include having your photograph and videos taken for promotional and press purposes including at the prize location.

OTHER RULES

1. Time Out reserves the right to exclude any entry from the Competition at any time if it has a reason to believe that the entrant has breached any of the Rules. 
2. The winner will be notified by Time Out using the contact information submitted in the winner’s entry. The winner may be asked to provide identification. Any winner who is not contactable or who fails to return contact within 24 hours of notification will be disqualified, in which case the winner forfeits their right to the Prize Package, no compensation will be given and the panel of judges will select a new winner.
3. The Prize Package will be provided by the Prize Provider and is subject to their terms and conditions indicated at the top of these Rules. 
4. The Prize Package is non-negotiable, non-transferable and non-refundable. 
5. In the event of unforeseen circumstances Time Out and the Prize Provider reserve the right to substitute the Prize Package for an alternative of equal or greater value. 
6. Time Out accepts no responsibility if the Prize Provider refuses to issue the Prize Package.
7. The names of the winner may be obtained by sending a written request with a stamped addressed envelope stating which competition you would like the winner’s details for, to Time Out England Limited, 1st Floor, 172 Drury Lane, London WC2B 5QR or by email to competitions@timeout.com. The request must be submitted within 1 calendar month after the End Date.
8. The winner will provide their personal data to a Time Out and consents to the processing of their personal data by Time Out for the purposes of administration of this Competition and in accordance with Time Out’s privacy notice: https://www.timeout.com/privacy-notice.

10. The panel of judges’ decision is final and binding on the entrants. No correspondence will be entered into. 
11. Any winners’ details shared by Time Out or the Prize Provider will be limited to surname and country only, in accordance with ASA guidelines on the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation. 
12. Copyright in all entries submitted for this Competition remains with the respective entrants. However, entrants agree that by submitting an entry to the Competition, they grant Time Out a royalty free, perpetual irrevocable worldwide licence to use and republish their entry. This includes sharing the entry through social media and publication by Time Out worldwide in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material. 
13. Time Out accepts no liability for any loss or damage however caused, including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss or damage or personal injury (with the exception of death or personal injury caused by Time Out’s own negligence) suffered or sustained in connection with the Prize Package.
14. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of Time Out and/or the Prize Provider and which prevents Time Out and/or the Prize Provider from complying with these Rules, neither Time Out or the Prize Provider will be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing their obligations. Time Out reserves the right to modify, delay, postpone or cancel the Competition in the event of circumstances outside of its reasonable control. 
15. This Competition and these Rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. 
16. The Competition promoter is Time Out and Time Out has the right to license any rights granted to Time Out to its associated companies and licensees.
