You didn't mention earlier that these timings were the ones you would be getting when your smart meter is installed. I rather assumed that your timings - which are determined by the distributor and delivered by the RTS  - would be changing to the ones quoted in anticipation of the RTS shut-down, to make sure things at least kept working until the meters could be exchanged. I suppose I was mistaken.
I try to keep responses as short as possible, so I apologise for any omissions. But at no time between making the meter change appointment (12 Feb) and yesterday was I ever informed of off-peak timing changes. How many other EDF customers are in the same situation? But is this some kind of delaying tactic in the 2nd and last paragraph? Judge for yourself in the full email below sent from hello@edfenergy.com (personal details removed):

I apologise that we have not updated you regarding an appointment to have the meter exchanged at your property. I have looked into our systems for an appointment however I have not been able to locate anything for you.
[As I noted previously, they had already said they would escalate my request for an appointment after failing to turn up in March]

I will be able to forward this through to our appointments team and they will be able to look into this for you.

We also have to ensure that you are aware the timings from your meter for your off peak which change as shown below:
[but when and why? Re-reading seems to imply this is based on the RTS, not the meter change, and immediate]

    Current off-peak hours: 00:15 - 07:15

    New off-peak hours: 00:00 - 02:00, 07:00 - 10:00, 16:00 - 17:00, 21:00 - 23:00

If you can confirm you have received this, we will be able to look into an appointment for your property.

Offpeak timings are arranged between suppliers and distributors, so they vary considerably around the country. Neither you nor the original poster have said where you're located, so the chances of your timings being the same as the OP's are pretty slim. That apart from the fact that the OP has a smart meter while you're still - I think - controlled by the RTS service. Your selective quotation from EDF's communications isn't making it easy to work out what's happening.
Some information for the OP is better than none, even if it is inaccurate.

Thanks. You still haven't told us where you are ... I'm wondering whether you're in a Load Managed Area, where the network is struggling to cope. It's not unlikely that the distributor could try to spread the heavy domestic load (e.g. storage and immersion heaters) around a bit, so some E7 customers will be getting offpeak time slots like yours, but staggered so the load is more evenly spread. This is pure speculation on my part, I should point out.

    I'm not being lazy ...
    I'm just in energy-saving mode.

If those timings are for your future smart meter, they will be applied to the ALCS and your storage heaters (and anythong.else that's fed by this switched E7 circuit) will automatically adapt. No need for any extra timers.

It's comforting to hear from someone who has some experience of the problems I've outlined and got through them. I was starting to think that the responses here would be from technocrats writing in a shorthand that would baffle most people.

The strange off peak timings that EDF told me I was getting with the smart meter upgrade were pretty ridiculous, and I'm still concerned that some folks have had things like this foisted on them without their knowledge, while they try to keep things as simple as possible. I see this in some other folk in the same block of flats - no mobiles, no internet, everything paid by cheque, etc. and easily taken advantage of.

I got through my issues with help and advice from here , no way could I have navigated it myself …

What area are you in ..I’m in north east of the uk , south Tyneside …as others have said , timings are area dependent
