Am I able to pay money back whilst still on Universal Credit? Or could I leave Universal Credit just to pay it back in one lump?Life in the slow lane1 -

Am I able to pay money back whilst still on Universal Credit? Or could I leave Universal Credit just to pay it back in one lump?If you do have an overpayment, they will offer you the option to make a lump sum repayment or to deduct monthly from ongoing UC payments. If your UC were to stop, the debt would be passed to debt management, and they would arrange repayment terms with you, again either lump sum or ongoing direct debit options. But you just need to sit tight for now and wait for DWP to determine if any overpayment has occurred, and how much it may be.2 -
