Curry's - Refund denied on faulty item

Hi, advice needed please ordered and paid for a Set top Box recorder from Curry's on click and collect. Today I took it back as it is faulty (30 days after collecting} asking for a refund. They said no because the 30 days starts from the order date not the date I recieved it. Surely a warrantly should only start from when thay hand the goods to you? They said they could send it for repair but this would be of no use as according to reviews it is a common design/software fault that is not repairable. Is there anything I can do? TIA

The 30 days short-term right to reject starts from (day after) collection or delivery, not order, see CRA 22(3):
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2015/15/section/22
And it's nothing to do with warranty, you're claiming against the retailer under your statutory consumer rights.1 -
According to the website T&Cs it is 30 days from purchase, or delivery. Did you collect it from store on the same day of purchasing?.1

A quick Google shows Currys are incorrect. The 30 days is from you receiving the item, not the day you ordered it.1

Ordered on the 28th Feb. Got message to say ready for collection on the 3rd March and collected that day0 -
In which case the 30 days expires today - if you take it back tomorrow then they may insist on a repair or replacement but if the fault is still present after that then you'd be entitled to a refund.Angel_Eyes said:
