EON NEXT WARM HOME DISCOUNT

i am in Scotland and with EO.N Next. I applied for Warm Home Discount when the scheme opened last year and received £150 in November 2024. However, I have now received an additional £72 in March 2025.

Similar happened last year when I received an additional £75 in March 2024 having already had the normal £150 payment.

Anyone have any idea why I seem to be getting an extra payment ? I don't really want to ask EON in case I shouldn't have received it and the take it back !!

I also live in Scotland and got £72, I only discovered I had got it when I got the email telling me my DD was about to be taken and it was £72 less than the bill I had got.

I am paying by variable direct debit

Sounds like a discretionary payment in addition to their obligation.  Octopus have, some years, paid an additional credit to those eligible for the WHD too.

It could well be an extra discretionary payment. I would have expected them to publicise something like that to help   with customer satisfaction ratings but can't find any mention anywhere.I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth though and I am sure I can put it to good use.

I just got a text from Eon Next 
The gist of it was they are doing something extra for customers receiving the Warm Home Discount in Scotland this year.
So we are giving you an extra £72 discount this year which you will se on your next bill.

So it looks like it is only for customers in Scotland.
