Or is it because, despite Martin Lewis no longer being actively involved with these boards, he is a known supporter of WASPI and the mods still have to comply with his views?

Guilty as charged m'lud - I must admit that, while intended as a light-hearted and satirical comment rather than being overly critical, it did cross my mind that it might not survive admin scrutiny, but don't believe it directly resulted in thread closure, as that came later, after someone else had another go at a similar gag after mine had already been deleted.  Apologies if anyone was offended, or disappointed that the thread didn't develop, although, as above, the topic is usually pretty toxic, hence the title of this one:

It was great post and didn't deserve deletion.   You made a lot of people laugh and it was one of the posts of the year.
