Financially linked to my partner during his lone mortgage application

Hi. I’m after some advice. My partner (were not married) has been gifted money from his parents for a deposit for a mortgage, this will be a mortgage in his name only as i have a bad credit history including a CCJ. 
My concern is that we are financially linked by a joint bank account and our water bill (in our area this does show and included on credit reports). None of which are using an overdraft or in arrears.
 I’m concerned the mortgage lender will request a hard credit search on myself stopping my partner getting the mortgage. Is there anyone who has had this happen to them or is it something that won’t be requested.

    If you are already financially linked then yes your record may impact his mortgage application.

    Yes you will be linked by the joint bank account. However if there is no overdraft, it is unlikely that this would be an issue. After all, they aren't lending you any money, just him

    It doesn’t necessarily matter. My adult son is linked to me due to opening a joint bank account when he was under 18, so I could feed him money where needed. The bank offered a no exchange rate penalty on overseas withdrawals, so we opened the account when he was doing school trips and holidays abroad and never got round to cancelling it. It has under £5 in it and hasn’t been actively used for many years. We were going to close it, but the bank requires us both to visit a branch together, so it just hasn’t happened.

    It didn’t effect him getting a mortgage or require me to be credit searched or checked.

    Less fiction and more fact, don't think that because you come for an answer here they will be correct.

    Talk to a mortgage advisor and get professional opinions.

    It's very difficult to say how an association will affect the application as every lender approaches such situations differently. No lender will hard check you without your permission to do so; but as you're aware some of your data "bleeds" into your partner's history because of the association.

    Had you asked this earlier, in the "run-up" to the transaction, you would have been advised to close the joint accounts and complete disassociation forms with each CRA to formally end the associations.
