Savemethemoney67 said:I submitted my defence to ClaimResponses.CNBC@justice.gov.uk on the 3rd APRIL 2025 and received the automatic reply to say it had been received, but have not had the questionnaires sent through, can anyone shed any light on what the usual wait time for these is?
Hi Savemethemoney67
Expect to wait 6 weeks for a response from CNBC
I submitted my defence on 19 March 2025 and finally received a response updated on MCOL 2 May 2025.
This was after waiting 23 days and then phoning CNBC and being told to resend defence and put in the subject line "Unprocessed defence" and claim number
They said to wait a further two weeks, which I did.
Now waiting for DQ N180
Good luck

After submitting my defence several times to the email address and having it escalated as the deadline approached, we are finally at the mediation stage, all set for 8th AUGUST (A date I stated I was unable to make - but it is what it is).
I regards to having a summary of my case ready for the mediator, i'm a little stuck as I most likely have not paid for parking on the offence date but the claimant still has not confirmed the offence (Given the woeful POC). My defence will have to rely on poor signage and the points outlined in the template defence.
Which key points from the defence do people recommend bringing up to the mediator in the initial summary?0 -
regards to having a summary of my case ready for the mediatorWhy are you doing that? You read the Mediation email ... but didn't re-read the Template Defence first steps!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'm just trying to be prepared for the mediation stage, obviously the template defence is too long to go through when i initially take the call from the mediator.
I am willing to negotiate (Up to £30) just to put an end to this whole process.0 -
Then negotiate, that is what you should or could do at the mediation stage, read the guidance and start with £10
Its about both sides trying to reach a settlement figure and one they both agree with ( its got nothing to do with the case or the facts, or the defence , you wont be going through any of that with the mediator )0 -

Well, the mediation call did not go to well ... best they would offer was £136 (NOT ACCEPTED), although that was coming back to me during the call was they believe my defence is just copied from the internet and they have everything they need for court.
When i answered the first call my mind went blank and they asked about me to summarise my defence. The issue being i still don't feel like I have a good defence like some people on here and very much feel like any court hearing is going to go against me.
I have some days free now to start preparing my defence statement after receiving notification the case has been passed to my local court in the past few days (no fixed date yet confirmed). I will be my only witness and currently my only argument is based around the small writing on the signage and the basis that the day before the offence i paid for 24 hours and therefore could not pay on arrival on the offence date, proceeding to forget to pay before departing the car park.
Any advice would be much appreciated, feeling very down about this currently.
On a side note since the offence date there has been changes made to the car park such as new signage but specific dates around when this went up is unknown, so do people still think it's worth me attending the car park to photograph it?0 -
When i answered the first call my mind went blank and they asked about me to summarise my defence. You were meant to say NO to that and remind the mediator that they aren't the judge.
You do not summarise your defence to a Mediator and you should have just laughed when they repeated the usual trotted out drivel from the Claimant: "waaah! It's an internet-based defence." The answer to that is SO WHAT?!
Nobody spends time on Mediation. This is fully covered in the first 8 steps: it should have been a THREE MINUTE CALL as the links in the Template Defence tell you.
Should have just been you yawning and telling the Mediator that parking claims are scams and 'no offer, goodbye' or a low offer to make the scam go away. Phone down. Conversation over.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

My response was exactly that! I am in total agreement that it doesn't matter where the defence has come from the points are valid and they are just using it as a reason to ignore the statement. The back and forth between us did not take long believe me they came back with a few measly offers.
I am disappointed i did not manage to get it to go away but take your point that the advice was just to write off the mediation stage.
The question for me now if how I formulate any defence when i cant even get out of my own head that I don't have a good argument or evidence to put forward other than what was in the original defence statement. I have done a lot of digging on here to find people in similar circumstances and/or ahead of me in the process to create my statement but so far am finding it difficult.
That is why I am asking for further advice around the defence at this moment in time, as i will continue to fight the good fight for us all.0 -
The defence is already in, logged, and the CNBC in Northampton will send the whole case file to the local nominated civil court that you nominated in your N180 DQ document weeks ago
Forget about the defence and prepare your WS plus Exhibits bundle, going forward, so the latter part of the 8 steps and beyond
Your postal court order from your local court is the important next stage
You were prepared to settle at £30 and they went down to £130, so no deal, nothing to feel down about
Just follow the process2
