Bought some potatoes and broccoli from Aldi this morning and they were 15p, not 8p. They only price matched the carrots.1

I bought carrots, parsnips x2, spuds and a swede from Sainsburys this morning.
I have to say they were in tiptop condition and what made it even better was I had bonus Nectar points on the spuds, swede and carrots totally 55p so the lot cost me 20p! suggest Nectar customers check their accounts in case you have these offers too.2 -
Sorry to hear about the quality of some of the veggies. Don't forget, if you're not happy they'll refund you - though it may be an embarrassment to request 8p !!!
Another thing I've worked out with Morrisons........
This weekend, they're awarding DOUBLE MORE POINTS for each item. Photo below is taken from an email.
So this equates to 1p off each item as opposed to the normal halfpenny (see my earlier post on 14 April).
And therefore you're "effectively" only paying 7p for the promotional Easter veggies !!!1 -

I always take them out of the bags straightaway to stop them sweating in the bag."Don't store carrots/parsnips in plastic bags" seems to be the trick. Although they were sold in one, they don't need to be there, and it doesn't help them keep fresh. The Xmas 9p veg bonanza pile of carrots/parsnips/spuds were de-bagged, placed in open trays, in a cool dark place. Not the fridge, and they kept usable for weeks ... each time I used some I washed/peel/diced extra and bagged/froze them to extend them further.

My Christmas spuds went in an old potato sack in the garage. With the temperatures we have in Jan/Feb they keep quite happily and I think it was March that I used the last of them.
There was then a bit of a gap due to the late Easter and with hotter temperatures coming I won't keep these as long so haven't bought so many1 -
This morning's episode of Farming Today put cheap Christmas and Easter veg under the spotlight. Worth listening to!
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.2 -
Nearly finished boiling/freezing the last of the swedes!0
