Best Joint Current and Saving Account Combos?

We are looking to find the best ‘joint current’ and ‘savings account’ combination, however when I see a good joint current account (e.g. Santander Edge joint account) - disappointingly they never have good joint easy-access saving accounts.

Ideally, we are looking for a joint savings account where you can have clearly identifiable pots – in the manner of Monzo or Chase - and within an easy access joint savings account where all the pots earn interest.

Open to suggestions... they can of course be with different banks. Thanks in advance

Given the nature of this forum, most people will opt for the savings accounts with the best rate/terms as opposed to the most convenient and just in my experience, high street banks very rarely have the most competitive savings products.

My advice would be find the best current account that works for you and independent of that find the best savings vehicle.

If you like pots, some of the app based banks have this feature (Tandem, Zopa, Monzo, Chase, etc), but again, you may find you're sacrificing interest for convenience. You can see best rates here:

https://moneyfactscompare.co.uk/savings-accounts/ (but be sure to read T&C's carefully - particularly for things like fees/withdrawals/etc).
    Know what you don't
  • Thanks Exodi. We would by fine sacrificing some interest for convenience - what I should have included is that:
... these savings pots would be short term savings for specific expense related items (e.g. car insurance, service charge, annual bills, etc...) so the amounts would no more than £2-3k probably where money is going in and out every couple of months.
Our 'real' long terms savings are already in suitable products where the interest % is the focus. That probably gives a better context.

If it’s just your annual bills then any sort of savings will be sufficient as not sure how much interest is lost by dipping in and out of several times a year.

we have a bog standard account with our bank for this purpose as it is just used for the ad hoc and one off expenses that crop up. There isn’t many months where we don’t have to make a withdrawal. The interest rate isn’t important as there is never a big amount in there.

im not sure of savings providers that provide the pots you are looking for other than the providers already mentioned

Solution we use (and we have the Santander Edge
1 joint account for bills, that's  to have enough, money in for bills.
The max £4000 in the Edge saver (and I have another saver with a bulk of some inheritance in it.)
The interest & cash back  overall pays for the monthly fees.

LLoydds I think has a joint savings account . And you could add someone with third party access to any savings account that has that option..

If you have a joint Edge account, you can also each have a sole Edge account (which you don‘t have to use for anything and which therefore costs nothing). You can then have 3 Edge Savers, i.e. £12k at the preferential savings rate between the two of you. Just don’t forget to “refresh” the savers at the end of 12 months

You can actually have 4 edge savers, because if you hold a joint Edge account you are both entitled to have an Edge savings account linked to it.
