    Thanks for reply.

If I had excess I'd rather put that into the cars battery (once house battery is full)

If there is excess generation with no car battery available to top up or space in house battery, then I'd put my hot water heater on which would reduce requirement to use elec overnight.

I'm already on the octopus intelligent go tariff.

Once I eventually get system installed I'll be able to figure out the best way to use it.

I wouldn't plan to export any, whatever I generate will be used or stored to be used when I'm not generating. Ie overnight or poor weather days. Living in Scotland there are alot of long grey days.
Doesn’t work like that - best bet is to top up cheaply over night, then sell back at the end of each day

Seriously, you top the car up from the grid at 7 p per Kw, and sell back to the grid at 15 p per kw. It’s cheaper to use electric from the grid at night and sell the rest from the battery back.
As said previously, that’s how you make money off the solar. Selling back solar can make you £150 pm month which pays your bill plus credit. Then you’re looking at make £1300’p year and paying it back in 6 years

ah ok that does make sense. In all fairness I get free charging on my car so would make even more sense to sell it.

Just waiting for finance to either be 0% for pv and battery systems now.

I think you may be waiting a long time. But good luck!

I think you should stop putting blockers in for yourself and just get on with it :)
