Free Computer To A Worthy Organisation?

My hubby puts together computers from parts he collects then gives them to family, friends, neighbours or anyone who can`t afford to buy them.0

Take out the hard drive and if you don't need it smash it up with a hammer.Come on you Irons0

if you don't find any organisations wanting it, then use freecycle before giving it to some 'recycling' company.
who would want it would, as always with computers, depend on the specs of the computer. from your description it could be anything from a 15 year old thing to something pretty high-tech...
if you are using some wiping software (or someone else is) properly then it would be pretty hard to recover enough information to use against you... but if your not comfortable in this area then perhaps keeping hold of the hard drive is an Ok idea.0 -
Thank you very much for all your ideas and advice.
I have decided against giving the computer away due to not feeling comfortable about the privacy and security issues.
However yesterday I met a lady who has just started a non-profit making company helping children back into society through sport and so I have decided to offer my help to them.
To all who sent private messages and hopefully have received a reply from me, I will let you know the outcome of all the information I receive.
Good luck to you all and to those who help others and may 2008 bring you all you wish for.
