I made it to Darlington with only two stops and no detours though the amount of roadworks was incredible. They were on almost every road. Anyway, I wasn't in a hurry and was able to fill the almost six hours with a new audiobook. 😀
All the unwanted kitchen stuff was been handed over before we had a Chinese takeaway and a modicum of most welcome wine. A happy evening for all. Now I'm still lying in bed waiting for the household to wake up. The daughter is a teacher so she'll be first to leave, after that everyone else will stir. I'll head home after breakfast.I hope that everyone is doing well. Hugs to all.10 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, glad you've had a good time, safe travels home.
Dry and bright again, the winter coats have been washed, dried and packed away. There's a thick dressing gown and an oodie on the line that can go away for the summer once they are dried.
I raked more moss from the grass yesterday and cut it again, I think I need to get some moss killer to put on. Also moved a peony in the garden, it didn't do very well where it was so it can have another chance.
Hoping everyone is well and you have a happy day. Take care. XX11 -

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's fine here, a lovely sunny morning.
Glad you had a safe journey to Darlo Gers, hope you have a good journey back.
I think I'll wash my big coats Camelot, they've certainly had some wear over the last few months.
Enjoy your hols Allie.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.11 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. I woke up at 6.00 needing the loo and it seemed a waste of a lovely morning to go back to bed at that time. So I have been time wasting roaming round the 'net. They lied about the all day sun yesterday, it didn't happen, so hopefully today will be better as it's currently beautiful.
My day of rest yesterday didn't happen as DD rang to see if I fancied a grocery shopping trip. Of course it was a yes from me, even though there was nothing I needed! I'm always up for going somewhere different. I got a few ys bits but was quite restrained. Sadly DD not so! She got a mountain of reduced stuff, without giving a thought to the fact both her freezers were stuffed. So I ended up putting my newly emptied spare freezer back on for her to store it all!. Her best bargains were some Higgidy quiches for 30p (Rrp £4.60 - eek!)
Today is Tuesday lunch day with DF, all being well as usual. I must browse the menu for something reasonably healthy as I seem to have lived all w/e and yesterday off chocolates and cake! I hope the sun keeps shining for us and there is no need to get the thermals back out again.
Have a lovely day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe x

Morning all
Bright and sunny here but still a chill in the air, we had a lovely day at the lambing farm yesterday we had a tractor ride and saw a lamb being born the sheep struggled a bit to give birth so two young lads both looked under 16 had to step in and help her it went on for about 1/2 hour they eventually got the lamb out and it was huge and not breathing 😳 they managed to get it back thank goodness and everyone clapped the young lads it was very moving.
Three people coming today and they have requested a walk and picnic so that’s what we will do there is a walk local to us with a cafe at the end so we can go there and have a tea afterwards.
Dinner tonight will be something with mince possibly chill with rice, dd is working a late shift so only OH and I here for dinner.
Gers safe travels back home xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, and a lovely one it is too. Thanks for the start Gers and a safe drive home.Enjoy your hol Allie.DH has gone for what he hopes is the last physio on his hip at the hospital. The next op will be on his knee, and he has a consultation in June. Before that we have booked a week away in Corfu, - I'll give you a wave RR
I'd never thought of a hol in Albania but I do remember seeing the coastline from a boat trip last time we went to Corfu ( long time ago now)
I have a beef stew to make for tonight so will try out the ninja I swapped with DS2 for a dual air fryer - it has a pressure cook setting. When we picked up DGS he was a bit subdued as his tooth had been aching. It's a back one & one of the last of his 'baby' teeth, the dentist has looked at it and said it'll fall out soon anyway, but his cheek looked a bit swollen. I messaged DGD last night too, she is still in pain and feeling ill with her swollen glands - hoping the antibiotics start to work soon.I've been busy clearing out a bedroom that has been used as a dumping ground really, lets say it's an ongoing job! Hoping to do a tip run and a CS drop. When we got married nearly 50 years ago, I used to collect bells. I found them in a box the other day at DH storage place ( that's another place that needs attention!) Brought the box home and have put some in the CS bag but was cleaning the brass ones yesterday- needless to say they were very tarnished. DGS was quite fascinated by one- the kind they would have had on a hotel reception or some such years agoDS1 started looking at them with his phone on G00g1e lens- who knew there was such a thing, not me! Turns out 1 or 2 are fairly rare and worth a few pounds, it takes you to other examples that are for sale. Trouble is they're the ones I like best so they can stay put for a while.
Hope you all enjoy a bit of sunshine in your day today .:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10 -
Morning all. A bit dull here atm but should brighten up later.
We're busy eating up the fresh food as away with friends from tomorrow night until Monday. Salmon and roasted veg tonight and I've just prepped most of the remaining fresh fruit for pudding.
Glad your trip went smoothly Gers and hope you get back home safely.
I've been waking up early ever since the clocks changed but haven't got much more done! Things will be busy once we're back next week so making the most of it I guess12 -
Morning all! Not sunny yet but yesterday was glorious. 4 loads f washing done and on the line...still there now though but I'll take them off in an hour or two. Got up stupid early for an appointment today, stood in line for a bit before I checked, and yes, I was there a day early...I was busy most of the day yesterday so today I'm taking it easy with seed sowing and maybe a garden centre impromptu visit [ the good ma and pa one, not the stupid expensive chains] I need some sticks and maybe a plant or two
Ok, I don't need the latter but something may fall into my car..Other than gardening and finding something to cook for tonight, I have no plans for today.
dp1, sounds rubbish, hope it improves soon! Allie, ahve a lovely holiday..Gers well done on decluttering with purpose and a nice time away. Izzy, how was your own cooked Sunday dinner? I still think that was a bit cheeky of them, they could have least have prepped the vegRuby, sounds lovely, glad you all enjoyed. Rosy, I used ot bell ring, have you got any of those?!!
TA, I think it's an unrealsistic dream to reduce yourself to jut one freezer even if this itme it's not you using it...:) camelot, you could go Monty Don new lawn with danelions and all sorts, much less hard work looking after it. Take care all, hope you get some sun today [ I'm back in my hoodie btw, it's nippy this morning]
