Suspect Sellers

Options
Frequently over several weeks, I have seen a seller under varieties of different names, put up a number of cosmetic/beauty items for mega cheap prices. The person has ‘no reviews’ and puts all these items under ‘buggies and pushchairs.’ They are mostly all the same prices, and odd ones like £5.66.
This is happening under various different seller profiles. No reviews, all items under wrong category and mega cheap items to lure you in. Vinted just respond with ‘seller already taken this down,’ when I report it. People must be getting really caught out.

These are well known scammer tactics and there is a thread somewhere on here about them already.

The odd amounts are because the scumbag scammers set up these fake listings on every Vinted, and since the majority use Euros, it comes out as an odd amount when converted to sterling.

The misuse of categories is because it is bulk uploaded, so they don't waste time with the correct categories, and just upload as fast as they can.

Whilst this would probably not work on ebay, and without appearing rude, it works on Vinted as many buyers there are not quite so tuned to obvious scams . It is a poor scam really though as Vinted don't release funds until buyer gets their item, but there are enough buyers who buy then totally forget about it, so the payment is released automatically after a few weeks  on the basis that buyer is incommunicado.
