Question about claim against previous insurance

Hi,
November last year, I scratched my car against a wall. I planned to get it repaired out of pocket to protect my no-claims bonus.
I've just had a quote for the repair and it's a lot more expensive than I thought it would be.
I've since changed insurers after the old one expired at the end of the year.
Have I any recourse for claiming against the insurance on this?
With hindsight I should have reported it the day it happened even if I wasn't planning to claim, but that boat has sailed.
Thanks.

contact your old insurer to make a claim
contact your new insurer to let them correct the policy0 -

You can claim on the old insurance, time delays arent a material problem unless it has caused it to start rusting etc. You would need to update your new insurers on the fact that the incident has now become a claim and the impact on your NCD.0
